Winner, Andrena (25 MAY 1861 - 24 SEP 1944)
A telegram received Monday morning from Dr. Harry Winner of Watford City, N.D., stated that his mother had passed away at a hospital at Williston on Sunday morning, after a short illness.
Burial services will be held at Keefe’s Funeral Home at Black River Falls at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, the Rev. Geo. Bell officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at Sechlerville.
Andrena Johnson was born on May 25, 1861 at Black River Falls. On June 3, 1886, she was united in marriage with Grant Winner at Sechlerville. They made their home at Whitehall, Clintonville, Black River Falls, Osseo and at Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), where Mr. Winner was employed. After living in the state of Indiana for a while they returned to Humbird in 1917, and remained here until the sudden death of Mr. Winner in February 1938, and the breaking of the home in this village, she had made her home with her daughter at Appleton, and spent the summers with her son and family at Watford City.
Mrs. Winner reached the age of 83 years and 4 months. She and her husband most happily celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home here on June 3rd, 1936.
The immediate family surviving are their two sons, Paul C. of Madison and Dr. Harry U. of Watford City, N.D., and one daughter, Mrs. Maue Ida Hyre of Appleton. There are six grandchildren. Mrs. Winner is also survived by one sister, Ida, whose home is in California, and two brothers, Theodore and Carl Johnson, living at Whitehall.
