The American Lutheran Church women met Thursday afternoon in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Hostesses were Mrs. Robert Engebretsen, Mrs. William Engebretsen and Mrs. John D. Wuethrich. Rev. Arvid Myhrwold had charge of Bible study; Mrs. Melvin Alperstett the youth program and Mrs. Henry Nielsen the worship offering.
The Greenwood Satellites 4-H club met at the Earl Caliebe home with Dallas Wuethrich presiding. The club tour will be held Sunday, July 8. The tour will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the John Gatz home.
Members of the Lutheran Women Missionary League of Trinity Lutheran Church met at the Herman Metzke home Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Metzke and Mrs. Charles Kramer as hostesses. The next meeting will be the annual picnic at the Greenwood Park Thursday afternoon, July 19. A potluck lunch will be served.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Speich are the parents of a daughter born June 24, in Marshfield.
Karen and Jane Telford arrived Monday from Eau Claire to spend a few days with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Warner.
Herbert Koenig and Frank Koenig, who came here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Herbert Koenig, returned to Milwaukee Tuesday.
Wednesday evening supper guests at the Ben Dallman home were Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Thiel and daughter, Pamela, and son Gregory, of Washington, D. C., and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Thiel of Owen.
The Rev. and Mrs. Harold Verhulst of Yankton, S. D. who are on their honeymoon spent from Sunday until Tuesday with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Verhulst. On Monday evening relatives and friends attended a miscellaneous shower, held in their honor at the Verhulst home. After the honored couple opened their gifts, refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Otto Voie, Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre, Mrs. Leonard Johnson and Mrs. Carl Turnquist.
Carl Stabnow on Wednesday was taken by ambulance to Madison, where he entered the veterans’ hospital for treatment. He had fractured several ribs in a fall at his home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Goeke and family returned Sunday to Pewaukee after spending a week at the home of his brother, Harvey Goeke, and with his father, William Goeke.
A belated birthday party was held in honor of Mrs. Frank Bayuk at her home. She was presented with gifts. A lunch was served. Those present were Miss Kathryn Brux of Madison; Mrs. Henry Thwing, Mrs. Christ Keiner, Mrs. Hugh Severson, Mrs. Peter Scherr, Mrs. Alma Busch, Miss Louise Keiner, Mrs. Myron Kenyon, Mrs. Erwin Geisler, Mrs. Harlan Brux and children and Mrs. Eugene Carteron and children.
Victor Wagner was elected grand knight of Our Lady of Fatima Council, Knights of Columbus, at a meeting held June 19 in St. Mary’s hall. Gene Ross was elected deputy Grand Knight; William Kuchenbecker, financial secretary; Ed Zorman, recording secretary; Vern Rogstad, treasurer; Ralph Feldt, advocate; Leonard Chaltry, warden; Floyd Plautz, chancellor; Bernard Kaiser, outside guard; Robert Opelt, inside guard; trustees: Max Langfeldt, three years; Ed Bauer, two years; Ray McNeeley, one year. Mr. Wagner is instructor in vocational agriculture in Greenwood High School.
