Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kunze of Pine Valley entertained at a family picnic recently to honor Mrs. Lewis Scholtz who celebrated her birthday. Relatives joining in the party were Mr. and Mrs. William Hill and family of Elroy, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Gassen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Scholtz, of Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Eddy and family of Duluth, Minn., are having a two-week vacation. They visited the Jack Eddy family and Vance and Bill Davidson in Beloit Monday. They are also planning to visit Mrs. Lulu Eddy in Black River Falls, and the Kenneth Eddy family in Neillsville.
Barry, six months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Williams, has been receiving treatment and care in a Marshfield hospital the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Zilk visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zilk in Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Heimstead have had as guests Mrs. Paul Heimstead of Sparta, Mrs. Morris Carter of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Harris of Warrens, Mr. and Mrs. Howard McCarty and family of Rice Lake.
Carole West, a 1962 graduate of Neillsville High School, has enrolled at a business institute in Minneapolis. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James West.
Mr. and Mrs. George Larson of Stillwater, Minn., were weekend visitors at the John Gullickson home.
The Rev. Jacob Grether conducted church services and delivered the sermon in the United Church of Christ, Waverly, Ia., July 1. Mr. Grether and family will leave this week on an auto trip to Colorado. They plan to visit relatives in the Dakota and beauty spots in the Rockies. Mr. Grether is scheduled to deliver the sermon in an E & R Church in Belmont, S. D., July 15. Richard Schneider conducted services in the United Church of Christ in Humbird Sunday in the absence of the Rev. Jacob Grether, (the interim pastor).
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dahnert and three sons of Evanston, Ill., are spending a two-week vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Dahnert. Bob, who established a record as an outstanding cornetist in Neillsville High School, has now switched to French horn and his oldest son is now taking lessons on the French horn. He is employed by a music publishing business in Evanston.
The Rev. and Mrs. Leo J. Chapman, who are caring for an elderly lady in the Town of Sherman, near Spencer, visited friends and former neighbors in Neillsville Thursday.
Mrs. Virginia Radloff is having a week’s vacation from her duties as office secretary in Neillsville High School. She left last weekend to join a young lady friend from Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gruenke visited her brother, Bernard Walter, and his family in Chippewa Falls Thursday.
Gerald Walter, a graduate of Neillsville High School, has received a $2,000 scholarship to work on his masters at Utah State University in Salt Lake City. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Walter, formerly of Neillsville and now of Chippewa Falls.
Omitted last week in the list of those attending the Seelow-Harrington wedding in Milwaukee on June 16 were Mr. and Mrs. Russell Seelow and family and Mrs. Edith Schoengarth.
Mrs. Loren Hales of York Center visited her husband in Wisconsin General Hospital in Madison twice last weekend. Mr. Hales is receiving treatment for an infection on his hip. Other weekend visitors included Mr. and Mrs. William Eibergen, Alvin Dahl of York Center and Alice Baughman of Eaton Center. Mrs. Hales took her husband to a Madison park and to Cambridge to visit Korth Brothers Sunday.
Mrs. Pat Connell of Eau Claire, a former staff member of Winnebago Children’s home visited the home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Quast of River Falls are spending the summer with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Quast in the Town of Seif and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krause in Cannonville. Richard is employed in Marshfield and commutes each day.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Counsell of the Town of Seif visited relatives and friends in Neillsville Monday.
Agnes Mohr of St. Paul visited her mother, Mrs. Chris Mohr, in Pine Valley last weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Novak and children, Barbara and Robert, of Bruce Mound (Dewhurst) visited Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mohr and family Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Miller and family of Marshfield, Mrs. Rudolph Opelt and daughters, Cheryl and Mary, of Hewett, Mr. and Mrs. Claire Smale of Neillsville were weekend visitors at the Albert Miller home in the Town of Seif.
Mr. and Mrs. Chap Paulson, Peter and Howard, went last week to Wisconsin Dells, where they will furnish stage coaches for Fort Dells amusement park.
JoAnne Grap, R. N., who had been on the nursing staff of Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, has returned to her nursing duties in Milwaukee Hospital. She plans to study at Marquette University and work toward a degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Grap, Sr., of Weston.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Huettenrauch and family returned to Milwaukee Sunday following a week’s visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Grap, Sr., in Town of Weston. Jill Huettenrauch remained two weeks with her grandparents.
Louis Grap of Milwaukee is having a week’s vacation and is at the Frederick Grap home in the Town of Weston.
Mr. and Mrs. George Nielsen, Sr., entertained their family in Weston Sunday. They included: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Henderlong and children of Detroit, (sorry some portion is missing).
