Last Sunday Seaman Dick Matti was home for a day’s furlough from Chicago, where he is temporarily located.  A family reunion was held at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Dimmitt, in his honor.  Dick goes to the Atlantic naval services soon.

 

Lee Gower and son Irving came over from the farm near Granton last Saturday to spend a couple of days with friends and relatives here and at Alma Center.

 

A-C Walter Scheffer, who has been at the Santa Ana, Calif., air base is transferred to Louisiana, where he will be studying navigation for about four months.  His new address is: A-C Walter F. Scheffer, 16115286, Flt 32-B, CL 45 7N, Selman Field, Monroe, La.

 

Harry Iffland and wife, Geo. And Chas. Dunlap, Geo. Iffland of Fairchild, and Mrs. Iffland’s sister from La Crosse, returned Saturday evening from a trip to Canisota, S.D.
