McVean, Eugene "Mac" (10 SEP 1926 - 23 JUN 2011)
SPENCER -- Eugene "Mac" McVean, 84, of Spencer, passed away
peacefully Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Ministry House of the Dove,
surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at noon Monday, June 27, 2011, at
the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer. The Rev. Patricia
Herdt will officiate. Interment of ashes will be in the West
Spencer Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time
on Monday at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer.
Mac was born Sept. 10, 1926, in Clark County, to Richard "Norman"
and Faith (Freeman) McVean. He attended the Spencer-area schools
and went on to serve his country proudly during World War II. Mac
returned home and was employed by Jensen Motors and later
Pathfinder Mobile Home Manufacturing Company in Spencer for more
than 25 years.
Mr. McVean was a member of the American Legion in Loyal. In his
spare time, Mac enjoyed attending auctions in search of the perfect
items to add to his collection.
Mac is lovingly survived by his sister, Shirley (Leon) Mondloch of
Spencer; and brother, Richard (Joan) McVean of Mountain Home, Ark.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends. He will
truly be missed.
His parents, Richard "Norman" and Faith, preceded Eugene in
death.
