Buchholz, Minnie (15 JUL 1879 - 14 APR 1945)

Friends were greatly shocked last Saturday forenoon when they learned that Mr. Chas. Buchholz had been stricken about 10 o’clock that forenoon while shopping.  She passed away without regaining consciousness.  Mrs. Buchholz had been in failing health for some time, but few realized that her condition was serious.

Minnie Pulver, daughter of Jonas and Sophirnia Pulver, was born July 15, 1879, in the town of Otsego, Columbia County, Wis., and died at her home in Humbird (Clark Co.), Wis., April 14, 1945, at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 29 days.

She was united in marriage with Mr. Charles Buchholz on Nov. 24, 1897.  They resided on a farm in Columbia County for five years, and in the fall of 1902 they moved to a farm in the town of Alma, Jackson County.  They remained on the farm until 1920, at which time they moved into Humbird, and this village has since been her home.

To this union were born five children: Robert Henry, Edna Mae, Adelaide Josephine, Eugene Henry, and Geraldine Elizabeth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers and one sister, and her daughter Edna Mae, who died in infancy.

Mourning her death are her husband; two sons and two daughters, Robert H. of Altoona, Mrs. Adelaide Harris of Tacoma, Wash, Eugene H. of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Geraldine Fonfara of Chicago; and two grandchildren, Mrs. William Bates of Altoona, and Stanley Fonfara of Chicago.

Funeral services were held at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, of which the deceased was a communicant, at 2:00 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, April 17th, the pastor, the Rev. N.J. Dechant, officiating.  Musical selections were by Mrs. Waters and Mrs. Smith.  Pallbearers were W.A. Fradenburg, Moritz Kretschmer, L.G. Laffe, Harry Hart, P.A. Hemmy, and Peter Fradenburg.  Many friends were in attendance at the service.  Burial was in the Houghtonburg Cemetery.

Members of the family from away attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Buchholz, Mrs. William Bates, Altoona; Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Buchholz, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. P. Fonfara and son, Chicago.  Other relatives present were: Mrs. Augusta Benedict, Earl Benedict, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Benedict, Harry Benedict, of Sparta; Mrs. Ella Von Haden, Tomah; Mrs. Kenneth Ott, Camp Douglas; Mrs. Chas. Compton, Mrs. Geo. Byington, Elroy; Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Halverson, Mrs. Geo.
