Frank Hayward was home from Rib Lake to spend a day with his family recently.  

Miss Genevieve Ackerman, who has been spending several months with her uncle in Lumber City, Ga,. has arrived home.  

Mrs, John Stockman of the Wisconsin Veterans' Home has been spending a few days at the home of her brother, D. M. Hanson.  

Miss Ella Krause of Butternut came from Racine to visit relatives, at the National House. Ross Baker of Minneapolis was the guest of Spencer friends a few days since. Mrs. F. A. Soles and daughter Bernice went to Milladore the past week to visit her parents.

Miss Effie Williams is home from Mason where she taught school.

In response to an invitation from the Colby R. N. A,, thirty-four Royal Neighbors and Woodmen went to Colby Friday evening June 13 by train and auto to attend a social gathering and entertainment. Abbotsford and Unity guests were also present and the evening was a most enjoyable one.  

Mrs. Ben Hoey of Rib Lake arrived in Spencer, last week for a short visit with her mother. She accompanied Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Getchel in their auto.  

The Spencer Band and orchestra are engaged to go to Rib Lake to furnish music for the Fourth of July celebration.' The base ball team will also go up for a game with Rib Lake.  

F. A. Allar has sold his flour and feed store to Tack and Martin. He also dealt in farm produce and lime lath and other building materials.  

The Spencer ball team won another game; at Curtis on the 15th. score 9 to 3. This made six successive victories for our boys.  

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Will Bolterman, Monday Jane 9th a son.  

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Lonn, Sunday June 8th a daughter.  

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Gloff, Thursday June 12th a daughter.  

Roy Crawshaw left last Tuesday for Morion, Michigan to visit friends.  

Children's Day was observed at the M. E. church last Sunday, at the morning service.  

Frank Brusewitz of Wirt, Minnesota has been visiting relatives in Spencer and vicinity.

Sophia, the third daughter of Mr., and Mrs. H. F. Schwantes, and Mr. Aleck Ahlgren of Minneapolis were united in marriage Thursday evening June 12th, at the Lutheran parsonage. They were attended by the bride's sister, Miss Elizabeth, and Mr. Chillson of Fond du Lac. After the ceremony there was a wedding reception at the home o£ the bride's parents. Only near relatives and a few friends were present. Mr. and Mrs. Ahlgren left that night for Minneapolis. They will reside at Chippewa Falls. The groom is a fireman on the Soo line. They have the best wishes of many friends.  

Mr. Larsen of Minneapolis has been in town attending to the moving and disposing of truck and other implements and belongings used by his company while building the Spencer-Owen cut-off. The Soo line ordered their right of way cleared.  

New potatoes are selling to consumers at 25 cents the half-peck.
