Bailey, Mary (27 APR 1862 - 6 JUL 1945)
Mrs. Mary Bailey, who came here last March to live at the home of her son, Chester Bailey, died last Friday, July 6, 1945, from the infirmities of age, after a number of weeks confined to her bed. For several months her eyesight was gone, and toward the last hearing also failed. The remains were taken to her former home at Dodgeville Sunday night, and services were held at the funeral home in that city at 2:00 o’clock Monday afternoon. Rev. D.W. Irish, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in East Side Cemetery, beside her husband who preceded her thirty-nine years ago.
Mary Hannah Mitchel was born April 27, 1862, at Dodgeville, and passed away July 6, 1945, at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 9 days. She was the youngest of six children of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mitchell, and was the last survivor. On Dec. 4, 1884, she was married to David Bailey, and to tis union was born twin sons, Charles and Chester. Mrs. Bailey was a lifelong resident of Dodgeville, living with her son Charles until his death last March. She had been a member of the Methodist Church since early girlhood.
