Kern, George (27 December 1871 - 24 August 1962)
George Kern, 90, of Greenwood died Friday morning in Neillsville. He had been a hospital patient since July 13. Mr. Kern was born December 27, 1871, in Philadelphia, Pa. At an early age he came with his parents, Henry and Johanna (Mann) Kern, to Greenwood, where he received his education. Since their marriage the Kerns have lived on the present farm, a mile northwest of here.
Surviving are: his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Otto (Mabel) Moldenhauer, Mr. Leonard (Hazel) Mueller and Mrs. Violet Seroski, all of Chicago, Ill.; and Miss Rose Kern, at home; five sons, George of Marshfield, William, address unknown, Clarence of Georgetown, Minn., Edwin and Theodore, at home; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Orval Egbert officiated. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
