United Church of Christ (Parsonage/exchange - 1962)
Members of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville voted Sunday morning to authorize the purchase of the Cecil Minette residence at 50 Hewett Street.
It was reported that an offer had been made by Mr. and Mrs. Minette to trade their new residence on Hewett Street to the United Church of Christ for a cash difference of $10,000. Mr. and Mrs. Minette will take the church parsonage at Fourth and Park Streets in exchange.
Two votes were taken: the first, whether to approve of the purchase or building of a new parsonage, resulted in 103 for and 33 against and 10 blank votes. A second vote, to authorize the board of trustees to negotiate the trade with the Minettes, resulted in a vote of 100 for and 24 against and 16 blank votes.
It is reported that Mr. and Mrs. Minette will move into the former parsonage and give immediate possession to their residence on Hewett Street.
The Rev. and Mrs. W. C. Koehler and children, Erick and Mathew, arrived Friday and were entertained last weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan W. Lauscher.
The Rev. Mr. Koehler gave his first sermon Sunday morning.
