Bredlau, Gerald  (24 FEB 1934-27 MAY 2011)

 

Gerald T. Bredlau, 77, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011, in the Palliative Care Unit at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial followed in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Gerald Thomas Bredlau was born on Feb. 24, 1934, in Loyal, the son of Emil and Marie (nee Bleuer) Bredlau. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at Spokeville Grade School and graduated from Loyal High School in 1952. He married Janet C. Haupt in Loyal, on Dec. 5, 1953. He owned a tree service business for more than 20 years, along with several other businesses, including a restaurant. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Mason’s Lodge #317 in Owen.

 

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Janet, Marshfield; four children, Michael (Mary) Bredlau, Stevens Point, Jeffrey (Cyanne) Bredlau, Onalaska, Steven Bredlau, Micanopy, Fla., and Sandra (Bonnie) Bredlau, Conway, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert (Marcie) Bredlau, Owen, Harry "Pat" (Shirley) Bradlau, Madison, and John (Elaine) Bredlau, Manistique, Mich,; one sister, Arlene Barker, Marshfield; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, David Bredlau; and four sisters, Emily Lucht, Lucille Wirth, Esther Fredrick and Dorothy Lauby.
