Klancher, Frieda; (09 DEC 1916-07 JUNE 2011)

 

Frieda Klancher, 94, Willard, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Neillsville Retirement Community. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Friday, June 10, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial followed in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott Krultz, Eddie Krultz, Mickey Krultz, Ronnie Hribar, Diane Wildish and Darlene Zukowski.

 

Frieda Krultz was born on Dec. 9, 1916, in Mulberry (Breezy Hill), Kan., the daughter of Mike and Antonia (nee Prosence) Krultz. In the spring of 1920, her family moved to Willard and began farming. She was raised in the Willard area and received her elementary education at North Mound School at Rocky Run School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1936. She taught school at Rocky Run School from 1938-1940. She married Paul C. Klancher on Nov. 11, 1940, in Neillsville. She continued teaching and her career included North Mound School from 1940-42. Willard State Graded School from 1949-52 and 1960-70, Blackberry School from 1956-60, and Greenwood Elementary from 1970-80. She received her degree in elementary education from Eau Claire State University in 1962. She taught for 31 years and retired on May 30, 1980. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Slovenian Women’s Union, the Druzba Club and S.N.P.J. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with family and friends, her heritage, writing letters, and people activities.

 

She will be dearly missed by her two children, Paul M. (Barbara) Klancher, Rice Lake, and Kay (Patrick) Plautz, Eagan, Minn.; five grandchildren, Lee (Joan) Hughes, Austin, Texas, Wendy (Tom Trotter) Klancher, Washington, D.C., Amy Furlong, River Falls, Josh Plautz, Eagan, Minn., and Jesse Plantz, Napa, Calif.; two great-grandchildren Hannah and Heather Furlong; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul C. Klancher, on Feb. 6, 1986; one granddaughter, Mary Plautz; one sister, Elma Hribar; and three brothers, Mike Krultz, Selvian Krultz and Walyer Krultz.

 

The family requests that memorials be given to Ministry Home Care Hospice of Marshfield.
