Winters, Thomas (95th Birthday - 14 September 1962)
Thomas Winters celebrated his 95th birthday, Friday, September 14, at his home at 304 Court Street.
Born in Waupaca County September 14, 1867, Thomas Winters came with his parents to Clark County when he was only six weeks of age. The trip from Waupaca to Shortville was made by covered wagon drawn by ox team. The 90 mile trip took them six weeks. Mr. Winters was raised in the Town of Washburn, where he attended school. His parents farmed in Washburn and later he operated a farm there. He also owned and operated the Shortville Store (the rest of the story is not here).
