Kirby, Nellie (12 November 1967 - 12 September 1962)
Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Kirby, 94, of Humbird, were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Zion United Church of Christ in Humbird. The Rev. Jacob Grether of Neillsville officiated. Burial was made in the Town of Mentor Cemetery. She died September 12.
Mrs. Kirby, the former Nellie Stine, was born November 12, 1867, in Oregon, Ill. She received her education there and lived there several years following her marriage to Edward Kirby in 1899.
Six years after their marriage they moved to Cherokee, Ia., living there for a while before moving to Minnesota. In 1928, they moved back to Wisconsin. Following the death of her husband she made her home with her son, Archie in Humbird.
She is survived by her son; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Loretta Adams of Chicago, Ill.
Pallbearers were: William Aebersold, John Bryner, Henry Laffe, Harold Losey, Arnold Matti and Fred Trachsel.
Two Hymns, "Safe in the arms of Jesus" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," were sung by Mrs. William Theiler, accompanied by James Duerkop.
Those from away here for the services were: Mrs. Mary Seelow, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Trachsel, Rochester, Minn.; Henry Spielman, St. Croix Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Bud Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Senske, Peggy Senske, Patricia Senske and John Paulbick, all of St. Paul, Minn.; and Mrs. Aylo Flanagan of Seattle, Wash.
The Bergemann Funeral Home in Neillsville made funeral arrangements.
