Globe (20 September 1962)
Mrs. Matilda Godfrey of Pennock, Minn., accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. George Svuba of Laurens, Ia., to the Paul Klauer home last Thursday evening. Friday morning they continued on their way to visit relatives in Antigo. Mrs. Godfrey visited her cousins in this area. This was her first trip to Wisconsin and on Sunday, being her 83rd birthday; plans were made for a reunion. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Kalsow, Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Grap, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Kalsow and family and her mother, Mrs. Martha Eberhardt, Martin Kalsow, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Kalsow, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kalsow, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Grap, Sr., and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Grap, Jr. and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Kalsow and daughters; Mrs. Anna Klauer of Berlin, and Ed Kalsow of Granton. A potluck dinner and supper were served at the Paul Klauer and Lebrecht Kalsow homes. A birthday cake was made and decorated by Mrs. Frederick Grap, Jr. Mrs. Godfrey saw much fine scenery along the way and thinks Wisconsin is very nice.
Mr. and Mrs. Svuba called for Mrs. Godfrey on Monday and returned to their home. Mrs. Godfrey received many cards and gifts and enjoyed the day very much.
