Neuendorf, Virginia (22 OCT 1921 - 2 JUL 2011)

 


Neillsville, Wis. -- Virginia Neuendorf, 89, of Neillsville, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital as a result of an automobile accident.


Virginia Hughes was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Milwaukee the daughter of Patrick and Leona (Schlieve) Hughes. She attended grade school in Milwaukee and graduated from high school in Duluth, Minn.


On Dec. 30, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harvey Neuendorf in Denver, Colo., where he was stationed in the military at the time.


In Neillsville, she worked as a checker at the Farmer's Store downtown and seasonally for Figi's both in Marshfield and Neillsville.


She is survived by her husband, Harvey, three children, Chuck (Kris) Neuendorf of Neillsville, Robert (Rhonda) Neuendorf of West Allis, and Susie (Russell) Karl of Neillsville, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
