John D. Wuethrich, who has just returned from a three-week trip to Holland and Switzerland, gave an interesting talk on his trip at the meeting of the Adult Fellowship Sunday evening in the Zion United Church. Guests were members of the Adult fellowship from the Immanuel United Church.
Robert Schneider presided over the meeting, which opened with group singing. The Rev. Orval Egbert led in devotions. Following the program a lunch was served by the ladies of Zion Fellowship, under Mrs. Adolph Wessel and Mrs. Daniel Olson.
Mrs. Ted Braun was elected president and Mrs. Albert Wessel, secretary at the meeting of the Salem Ladies Aid last Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Leondo Franz. Hold-over offices are: Mrs. Mike Bolf, vice president; and Mrs. Otto Horn, treasurer. Out-going officers are Mrs. Albert Franz and Mrs. John Seibold.
The Rev. and Mrs. Orval Egbert attended a potluck dinner Monday in the parish hall of the Colby United Church of Christ, with the Rev. and Mrs. Carl Serr as hosts. The occasion was a farewell for the Rev. and Mrs. Harvey Reh of the Marshfield-Stratford charge, who are leaving for Raymond Center; and a welcome for the Rev. and Mrs. W. C. Koehler of Neillsville and the Rev. Ray Hernandes, assistant pastor at the United Church of Christ at Merrill.
Mrs. Almay Dyre of Syracuse, N. Y., Mrs. Ingaborg Hogue and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre were entertained Monday afternoon at the Otto Voie home.
Mr. and Mrs. Gus Korger of Lindsey visited Sunday at the Tony Rychnovsky home.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Olson and daughter of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dunn of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre and daughters were Sunday supper guests at the Otto Voie home.
Mrs. Kenneth Metcalf, Mrs. Tom Krejci, Mrs. Roy Johnson and Mrs. Louis Kaudy entertained a group of women Thursday afternoon at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corey and daughter of Heron, S. D., who are spending several days with his mother, Mrs. Lee Corey and with his brother, Gary Corey and family at Neillsville, were Wednesday evening guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Metzke.
Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kenyon and Mrs. Frances Langreck returned Tuesday after spending a few days in Green Bay with the Kenyon’s daughter, Mrs. Harvey Humke, and her family. While there they attended a celebration in honor of Mrs. Humke’s birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dunn of Eau Claire, Mrs. Almay Dyre of Syracuse, N. Y., Mrs. Ingaborg Hogue and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre.
Ben Dallman returned Sunday from the University Hospital in Madison. He was a patient there for 10 days.
John Falkner of Durand, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pomash of Arkansaw, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Scherr of Wausau, Mrs. Florian Herrick and daughter of Colby were Sunday guest s at the Peter Scherr home.
An afternoon party sponsored by the local American Legion Auxiliary was held Wednesday in the Veterans Hospital in Tomah. Guests were approximately 90 hospitalized veterans. Cookies and ice cream were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Robert Carl, Mrs. Henry Keiner, Mrs. Gordon Christopherson, Mrs. May Clendenning, Mrs. Frances Hinker, Mrs. Charles Hare, Mrs. Carl Stabnow and Miss Louise Keiner. Kenneth Rodgers joined the auxiliary members in a tour of the hospital, following the party.
The Youth Fellowship meeting was held Sunday evening in the Immanuel United Church. The Rev. Orval Egbert led the discussion on the lesson, from the book, "Myself." The group decided to have their annual hay rack ride Sunday, October 28. Refreshments will be served. The food committee includes Roger Schwarze, Duane, Richard and Diane Olson. Lunch was served by Sandra Liebzeit and Dennis Wendt.
