Neillsville Locals (27 September 1962)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Porter Smith of Rockford, Ill., visited the Rev. and Mrs. E. G. Burtness last weekend.  The Rev. Raymond Mathrie of Cameroons, Africa, was a house guest there last week.

 

The Rev. Mr. Burtness attended a meeting in Wausau last week; and he and Mrs. Burtness attended a league meeting Sunday evening in Price.  Mr. and Mrs. David Jensen of Rockford, former members of their congregation in Rockford, visited here Friday.

 

Kay Schultz of Marshfield visited last weekend at the Otto M. Schultz home.  Mrs. Donald Schultz visited at the Soren Larsen home in Dewhurst.  Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Schultz and family of Comanche, Ia., visited last weekend at the Otto M. Schultz home.  Mr. Schultz and his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Lechner made a business trip to Waukegan, Ill., last weekend.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Percy Volkert of Reeseville visited last week at the Dr. Robert D. Peters home.

 

Mrs. Ellen Johnson of Wausau visited last weekend with her mother, Mrs. Oluf Olson.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Dorn of Abbotsford visited last week at the Mrs. Oluf Olson and Kenneth Olson homes.

 

Mrs. Forest Thompson visited Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ayers and family last week in New Lisbon.  Mr. and Mrs. Thompson also visited Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ottoson in Fall Creek.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Francis and family of Loyal visited Mrs. Ed Francis and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lezotte, Sr., last weekend. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fjerstad, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gassen and Mrs. Matt Gassen, Sr., of La Crosse visited last week at the Matt Gassen home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Braatz and sons visited Herman Gluch in a Marshfield hospital Sunday.  Mr. Gluch, 80, is being treated for pneumonia.

 

Mrs. John Oestreich of La Crosse visited last weekend with Wilfred B. Galstad and his family.

 

Phillip Thompson drove up from Rockford, Ill, Friday and brought Dianne and Mary Hoffmann with him.

 

Mrs. Forest Thompson and son, and Dianne Hoffmann visited friends in Pigeon Falls last weekend. They were joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thompson and Vicki of Minneapolis.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Roehl of the Town of York have purchased the former Frank Viergutz house on Bruley Street.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Becker and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Urlaub of the Town of Weston left Wednesday morning on a 10-day hunting and fishing trip in Canada.

 

The Dr. Robert D. Peters family is moving this week into the former Calway residence on East Fourth Street.  The Royce Larsen family will move this weekend to the former Peters’ residence on Second Street.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sitzman were called to Marshfield Saturday by the sudden death of his brother, Alvin, 42.  They also attended the funeral services Tuesday.
