Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fox of Elgin, Ill., recently spent a weekend in the Neillsville area. They were accompanied to Elgin by her mother, Mrs. Ella Schmidt, who is spending the winter there.
Mrs. Emil Zank, who has resided on Rt. 2, Neillsville, has moved to Fall Creek, where she is making her home with her daughter.
Mrs. W. G. Sleeph of Vero Beach, Fla., called Thursday forenoon at the B. J. Benson home. She was enroute to Florida after spending the summer in Chetek.
Ray Shaw was taken to a Madison hospital Monday, where he is undergoing a series of tests.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schmidt of Lodi, Cal., are expected today (Thursday) from Tomah, where they have been visiting. The Schmidts who formerly operated the bowling alley, plan an extended visit here.
Arthur Ziegler of Marion visited his daughter, Mrs. Russel Vandeberg, and her family last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mortenson have started construction of a garage at their home.
Cilla Kippenhan returned Saturday to the Winnebago Children’s home after an absence of two months. She underwent surgery in an Appleton hospital.
Terry Grieman is spending a few days in Garner, Ia.
Janet Thompson visited friends in Minneapolis last weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. William Simek visited relatives in Red Wing, Minn. Sunday.
The Hilltop Homemakers had their first meeting at the home of Mrs. Fred Appleyard September 26. One new member was added, Mrs. Gerald Eberhardt, making a total of 14 this year. New officers chosen were: Mrs. Gordon Sharratt, health chairman; Mrs. William Meihak, safety chairman; and Mrs. Chester Johnson, publicity chairman. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Charles Tews, with members bringing a potluck lunch. Mrs. Melvin Appleyard will attend the project, "Decision Making," at Greenwood and will report at the October 10 meeting.
