Thorp Man Kills Himself
THORP (Special) — Louis J. Kubera, 36, Rt. 1, Thorp, father of eight children, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in his home in the Town of Reseburg, three and one-half miles southeast of here. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Mrs. Kubera told Clark County authorities she had attempted to take her husband's deer rifle away from him when he threatened suicide after returning home about 11 p.m. He took the weapon anyway and shot himself through the neck, cutting the main vein . Clark County Coroner Robert Lulloff and Sheriff David Bretz investigated with Thorp Officer Ed Harycki, Lulloff declared the death a suicide. The body was taken to the Thorp Funeral Home.
