Willard Polka Fest draws crowd from Wisconsin and beyond
Willard’s 37th annual Polka Fest was held this past weekend, June 24, 25, and 26. Organizers of the event, Don and Donna Kirn, stated there were approximately 850 dancers for the three-day event. Other than those from Wisconsin, dancers came from Utah, Montana, California, North Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan and Arizona. Seven bands alternated in playing polkas, waltzes and fox trots for those dancing on the well maintained dance floor of the Willard Community Center, which offered a pleasant open view of the wooded country surroundings. Gary’s Ridgeland Dutchmen of Cashton (above) was one of the bands playing Saturday afternoon. (Photo by Dee Zimmerman/Clark County Press)
