Earl Pierce was over from Neillsville on a business trip last Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kunz, Mrs. Fred Gorell and son Danny, and Mrs. Bernice Gorell and sons Dicky and Terry, all of Fall Creek, were Saturday afternoon visitors at Jos. Trader’s.
Miss Esther Laffe spent last week at home from her work in Madison.
Jerome Dignin, wife and son Dale, who moved to a farm in Fairview a few months ago, returned to the village last Friday. They occupy the rooms over the tavern in Hotel Humbird.
Lt. Clarence Perry, wife and children, of Duluth, spent a few days the last of the week with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hart accompanied them home for a few days stay. Lt. Perry, who was in service in the Pacific, will receive his discharge from the navy next Tuesday. He will be employed with the U.S. Rubber Co., in the engineering department.
J.R. Trader was the successful bidder at the sale of the Mrs. Anna Pierce property last Saturday, the place going to him, in a field of bidders, at $550. The sale was made subject to court approval. Mr. Trader plans numerous improvements to the property. The house now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Trader has been sold by Mrs. Anna Putman to Peter O’Leary. The house will be remodeled and Mrs. Putman will occupy the upstairs.
