Trader, Clemence #2 (9 AUG 1871 - 8 APR 1946)
Clemence Lawrence Trader, oldest child of August and Rosina (Radtke) Trader, was born in Rose, Germany, Aug. 9, 1871. He came to America with his parents when a young boy, the family coming directly to Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), in which vicinity he has lived nearly all his life. He passed away late Monday evening, April 8, 1946, at his home east of the village, after more than a year of illness, and his last thoughts were of his mother who passed away many years ago.
On Jan. 3, 1914, he was united in marriage with Eva Lemon of Menomonie, to which union five children were born., one son preceding him in death when an infant.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife; one son, Clem Jr.; three daughters: Mrs. Roger (Katherine) Kurtzwig of Lake Delton, Mrs. Ernest (Anna) Tanck of Merrill, Mrs. Wm. (Martha) Cummings of Marshfield; ten grandchildren; one brother, Joseph R., and two sisters, Mrs. John Blang Sr. and Mrs. Anna Putman., all of Humbird; besides other relatives and many friends.
Burial services were held Thursday afternoon, April 11, at the funeral home in Fairchild, and at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in this village. The Rev. George Hohmann officiated. Many neighbors and friends attended the services. Among those coming from away were members of his family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cummings of Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Tack of Merrill. Others attending were Mrs. H.E. Backer and Edgar Thorne, Menomonie; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Van Kirk, Louis Van Kirk, Sparta, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Fradenburg and sons, Willard and Delmar, William and Miss Jean Audrey Dickinson, Augusta; Mrs. Alfred Gessen, Chippewa Falls; Arthur Putman, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. George Begley, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Walker, Rita and Clifford Walker, Mrs. Kate Cook, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Bentley, Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Beitenbach, Alma Center. Interment was in Mentor Cemetery.
