Pipkorn, Ione M. (19 AUG 1933 - 7 JUL 2011)

ABBOTSFORD -- Ione M. Pipkorn, 77, of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 7, 2011, in her home with her family by her side.

Ione was born Aug. 19, 1933, to Rudolph and Olivia (Gutenberger) Schoelzel. She attended Cloverdale School. She was united in marriage to John Sheets Sr. on Oct. 4, 1950, and they later divorced. She married Eugene Pipkorn on Sept. 10, 1981. They resided in Sheldon until his death in 2004.

Ione worked at Wick Building Systems in Marshfield for 17 years and later Weather Shield Manufacturing in Ladysmith until her retirement. Her hobbies were camping, traveling, biking and spending time with her family.

Ione is lovingly survived by her children, DuWayne (Kay) Sheets and Michael (Tammy) Sheets, all of Colby, Jim (Debbie) Sheets of Plymouth, John Sheets Jr. of Sheboygan, Roger (Mary Jane) Sheets of Glenbeulah; and daughter-in-law, Diane Sheets of Schofield. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Teri (Jason) Evert, Tami (Ryan) Bernt, April Voelker and Joshua Sheets, all of Colby, Crystal Thomas of Appleton, Ashley (Craig) Hafele of Cleveland, Brian (Kim) Sheets of Waldo, Lynne (Kevin) Seubert of Madison, Erin Sheets and Logan Sheets of Wausau, and James Sheets of Glenbeulah; her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Marisa Evert, Ethan and Ashlyn Bernt, Oliver and Estella Sheets, Kaleb Thomas and Marcus and Kaleb Hafele. Ione is also lovingly survived by her siblings, Darlene (Ed) Watchendonk, Jerry (Joan) Schoelzel, Darnell (Janis) Schoelzel, Emerita Phillips, Ronnie Schoelzel, Glen (Ramona) Schoelzel, Jim (Bonnie) Schoelzel, Sandy (Jim) Hudak, Dennis (Edith) Schoelzel, Connie (Duane) Stine and Korliss Uhilg; sisters-in-law, Kathy Schoelzel, Alice Schoelzel and Linda Schoelzel; and brothers-in-law, Jim Marth and Wayne Seefeld.

Ione was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; her son, Jeffrey Sheets; siblings, Rudy, Doris, DuWayne, Lyle, Beatrice, Audris, Patricia, Arlyn and Albert.

Ione will be sadly missed very much. She was so willing to help everyone and always enjoyed being with her family.

Her family will be hosting a celebration of life in her honor at the Colby VFW beginning at 5 p.m. July 23, 2011. Dinner will be served at about 6 p.m.
