Mr. and Mrs. Jake Fitzmaurice brought their nine-month-old daughter, Charlene Ann, home from an Eau Claire hospital, October 24, where the child had received care for bronchitis for two and one-half weeks. Friday she came down with chickenpox.
Jake Fitzmaurice accompanied Lloyd Slater and Robert Fitzmaurice of Humbird to Cavour, S. D. last week to hunt birds. Each got his limit.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Ketchum and family of Stoughton, former Neillsville residents, spent the weekend in Merrillan with the parents of Mrs. Ketchum, who observed their wedding anniversary. Mr. Ketchum and daughters, Cynthia and Noreen, attended church Sunday in Neillsville. The Ketchum family left Neillsville five years ago for Stoughton, where Mr. Ketchum is Vocational Ag instructor. Their oldest daughter, Karen, is in her second year of nurse’s training in Madison.
Miss Carol Peterson of Eau Claire spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Peterson.
The Rev. Aquinas Helwig, OFM is spending his vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Helwig, after visiting relatives in South Dakota. Thursday supper guests at the Helwig home were the Rev. Fr. Helwig, the Rev. Bernard T. Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Turczyn and children, Mr. and Mrs. John Haluchka and Mr. and Mrs. John Stytz and son, all of the Neillsville area.
Mrs. Adela Schumacher returned home Friday after spending the summer with her daughter and her family in Bay City, Mich. She also spent two weeks with her son, Arnold and his family in Dearborn, Mich.
Weekend guests at the Adela Schumacher home were her son, Bob, a medical student at the University of Wisconsin, and friend, Miss Sandra Olson. Sunday afternoon Mrs. Schumacher and her guests visited at the Dr. Victor Tharp home in Granton.
Mr. and Mrs. Werner Jahnke of Chicago, Ill., who spent part of the weekend with his father at Bethel Convalescent home in Arpin, were guests at the Anita Lautenbach home.
Miss Anita Lautenbach and Mrs. Adela Schumacher visited Saturday at the Robert Lautenbach home.
Tom Poziombke has returned to high school after a two-week absence due to surgery.
Victor Pagenkopf, son of Mrs. Herman Pagenkopf has been promoted to registrar in Platteville State College. He completed his studies for a doctorate in school administration last year in Utah University. His wife is the former Marian Counsell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Counsell of the Town of Grant.
Albert Sollberger is making repairs on the old John Sollberger, Sr., home in the Town of Hewett.
Richard M. Horswill is being treated for pneumonia in Memorial Hospital.
Arthur Carl returned last week from the Veterans Hospital in Madison, where he underwent surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Geise have returned from a visit with relatives in Clark, S. D., and Pipestone, Minn. Mr. Geise did some pheasant hunting.
Mr. and Mrs. Danny Rayburn of Evanston, Ill., visited Mr. and Mrs. George Nielsen and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Rayburn last weekend. Fred Aycock of Evanston accompanied them.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Maxwell and family have moved to Beloit, where he is working. Mrs. Maxell is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Nielsen.
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Sorenson of California visited last weekend at the George Nielsen home.
