Sachtjen, Mary E. (20 SEP 1946)
Quiet simplicity characterized the wedding of Miss Mary Elizabeth Sachtjen, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. E.J. Sachtjen of Merrillan, and Russell B. Pyre of Madison, at the home of the bride’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Liebenberg, in Madison at 4:00 o’clock last Friday afternoon. The bride’s father, assisted by the Rev. Alfred W. Swan, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Madison, read the service before the fireplace which was banked with gladioli.
Only the immediate families witnessed the ceremony and attended the supper which followed.
Mr. and Mrs. Pyre left on a short wedding trip. They will be at home in Madison, where the groom is a staff writer on the Wis. State Journal. The bride was home economics teacher in the Antigo Junior High.
