The marriage of Miss Bernice Theis and Mr. Albert Berthiaume took place at St. Joseph’s Church on Sept. 7th, 1946. The exchange of vows which preceded the nuptial mass were spoken before the altar, with Rev. Father Brake officiating.
Miss Bernice Theis is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Theis, and Mr. Albert Berthiaume is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Berthiaume Sr. of Chippewa Falls. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Joan Theis of Watertown, S.D., and the groom’s attendant was Mr. Robert Hebert of Chippewa Falls.
The bride was attired in an aqua blue suit with black accessories. She carried a white prayer book and wore a corsage of white roses and gardenias. The gift from the groom was a pearl necklace. The maid of honor was attired in a black suit with gold accessories, and wore a corsage of pink roses and gardenias.
A three-course wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents, with eighteen guests present. The table was centered with a two-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. Mrs. Schlicter and Mrs. Blang Jr. prepared the wedding breakfast. Relatives present were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Berthiaume Sr., Mrs. Rose Lyne and daughter Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Berthiaume of Chippewa Falls; Miss Joan Theis of Watertown, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Will Lyne, Miss Elaine Theis, Mr. Phil Schlosser of Eau Claire; Mrs. Robert Heyroth and daughter Eleanor and Miss Mary Faber of Alma Center; Mrs. Paul Elger and Miss Anna Theis.
The bride is a graduate of Humbird High School, class of ’43, spent two years at Eau Claire State Teachers College and one year of medical technology at the University of Minnesota.
The groom is a graduate of McDonnell High School at Chippewa Falls, attended Eau Claire Teachers College, the University of Wisconsin, and at present is attending Iowa State College at Ames, Iowa. They are at home at 514 Hayward Ave., Ames, Iowa.
