Luth, Verna (4 JAN 1904 - 24 MAR 1957)

 

Mrs. Verna P. Luth, 53, a nurse at the County Hospital for many years, died Sunday, March 24, in the County Hospital, San Jose.  She had been in ill health for several weeks.

 

She was born in Neillsville, Wisconsin, Jan. 4, 1904.  She moved to California 40 years ago.  After graduating from Live Oak Union High School, she went into nurse’s training at the County Hospital and has been employed there since.

 

She is survived by her husband, Henry Luth, 456 Marshall Avenue, San Jose; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Hicks of Sunnyside, Wash., and Henrietta Pearl Luth of San Jose; and one son, John H. Luth of San Jose.  She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Almeda Filice of Gilroy, and Mrs. Ruby Erler of Wellston, Mich., and four grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, March 26, from the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen E. Breed, Methodist minister of Gilroy, officiating.  Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
