Decker, Amelia Charlotte (4 May 1874 - 8 December 1962)
Mrs. Henry Decker, 88, lifelong resident of Greenwood, died December 8, at 2 p.m. of old age complications at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Calvin Franz, where she had been the last eight months. She had been ill for two weeks prior to her death.
Mrs. Decker, nee Amelia Charlotte Buker, daughter of Frederick and Charlotte Buker, was born May 4, 1874, in the Town of Warner, where she lived all her life.
She was married April 18, 1893, to Henry Decker by the Rev. John Schmalz. After their marriage they lived on a farm three miles northwest of Greenwood, now operated by her son, Arno, with whom she made her home after the death of her husband on April 14, 1930.
She was a member of Immanuel United Church and the Women’s Guild.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters: Oscar of Spencer; Mrs. Calvin (Meta) Franz and William and Arno Decker of Greenwood; and Mrs. Harold (Esther) Sievert of Eau Claire. Seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from Immanuel United Church, with the Rev. Orval Egbert officiating. Burial was made in the West Side Cemetery.
