Wittlinger, Delores E. (7 OCT 1923 - 13 JUL 2011)
ABBOTSFORD -- Delores E. Wittlinger, 87, of Abbotsford, passed away
Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in
Marshfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at
Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan. Pastor Jeff Lambrecht will
officiate. A visitation will be held Monday from 9 a.m. until the
time of service at the church. Burial will follow the service at
Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Milan.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the
family with funeral arrangements.
Delores was born Oct. 7, 1923, to William and Margaret (Jakobi)
Denzin in the town of Holton. She attended Berry Grade School. She
was united in marriage Sept. 18, 1943, to Vern Wittlinger at
Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan. Delores and Vern owned and
operated a farm in the town of Holton. She was a loving mother,
homemaker and foster grandmother with the Abbotsford School System.
She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, teaching
Vacation Bible School and Sunday school, and was a member of the
ladies aid.
Delores enjoyed gardening, needlework, working on the farm with her
husband, and dancing the polka and waltz. Most of all, she enjoyed
spending time with her family.
Delores is lovingly survived by her children, Vern (Darlene)
Wittlinger of Abbotsford, Verlyn (Judy) Wittlinger of Abbotsford,
Charlotte (Char) Wittlinger of Abbotsford and Barbara (David) Ven
Rooy of Owen; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is
further survived by a sister, Elaine Underwood of Colby; and a
brother, William (Shirley) Denzin of Athens.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one
granddaughter and three great-grandchildren; brother, Eldon Denzin;
sister, Evelyn Bunkelman; sisters-in-law, Pearl Semple and Bernice
Weber; and brothers-in-law, Vernon Underwood and Wilmer
Bunkelman.
