Mr. Nick Hubing, whose death occurred last week Wednesday, was born in Belgium, Ozawkie Co., Wis., in 1853.  At the age of 25 he was married to Miss Mary Pintz and the same year moved to Clark County where he had resided on a farm on the Ridge until his death.  He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife and ten children, namely: Will, Edward, Henry, Albert, Arthur, Charlie, George, Clara, Celia and Marie, two brothers, Mike of this place and Mike Jr. of Belgium, one sister, Mrs. Christina Decker of Belgium.

The funeral was held from the Catholic Church at Neillsville Sunday.  Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. John Pintz of Chicago, father of Mrs. Hubing, Mrs. Streff, of Chicago, Nick Hubing, Jacob Krier and Gilliam Croat of Belgium, Frank and George Hubing and Arthur and George Blecha of Athens and John Hubing of Loyal.

Mr. Hubing was one of the best known and respected farmers of this town. The splendid farm which he left behind is a mute testimony of his industry and forethought.  To his family he was always known as a loving husband and father, one who will be sadly missed by all.  He always enjoyed good health until a few years ago when he was forced to give up the work about the farm on account of a slight stroke of paralysis and other ailments which finally ended his earthly joy.  The large funeral cortege was a testimony of the esteem in which the deceased was held by his friends and neighbors.
