Mathews, Janice M. (29 JUN 1927 - 29 APR 1948)
Janice Marie Matti, only daughter of Adolph and Nellie Matti, was born in Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), June 29, 1927. She graduated from the Humbird High School with the class of 1944, and was married Nov. 30, 1946, to Robert E. Mathews. To them a son was born April 27, 1948, and two days later, on April 29th, Janice passed away.
The Rosary was held a the home of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Dimmitt, Sunday evening, and funeral services were held there and mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview, at 9:30 Monday forenoon, May 3rd, Rev. Joseph L. Brake officiating. Pallbearers were Wayland Hardwick, Arthur Putman, Willard Putman, Melvin Putman, Lynn Dignin, and Karl Johnson. Burial took place in Mentor Cemetery, where her father is buried.
She is survived by her husband, her infant son, her mother, and three brothers: Robert of Anchorage, Alaska, Dick and James at home; her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other relatives and friends who mourn her untimely death.
Her brother Robert arrived by plane Tuesday morning, from Alaska.
