Repplinger, Frank (22 SEP 1866 - 5 MAY 1948)

Frank Repplinger was born Sept. 22, 1866 in Tiensdorf, Germany, oldest son of Henry and Eva Repplinger.  When he was fourteen the family came to America and settled on a farm in Jackson County, Wis., where he grew to manhood and worked on the railroad.

On Jan. 9, 1893, he was married to Miss Anna Laas, and to this union six children were born, Henry a twin dying in infancy.

Mr. Repplinger farmed in Cleveland, Jackson Co., most of his life.  In 1912 they moved to Fairchild for a year, then returned to the farm.  In 1923 they rented the farm to their son Alvas, and in 1931 they moved back again and worked it until 1937, when unable to continue the work and moved to Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.).  Five eyars later they went to Milwaukee to be near their sons.

In the fall of 1944 they went to live with their son Nicholas in Montana, where Mrs. Repplinger passed away, Jan. 3, 1945.  Since then he made his home with his daughter near Merrillan.  Mr. Repplinger had been in failing health the past four eyars, with a heart ailment.  Death came to him at 10:45 p.m., May 5, 1948, at his daughter’s home, at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 13 days.

He is survived by four sons: Nicholas, Baker, Mont.; Alvas and Arnold in Milwaukee; and Leo of Camas, Wash.; and one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Staves, Merrillan; and eleven grandchildren.  Also two sisters, Mrs. Edward Stienbor of Streator, Ill., and Mrs. Frank Wierather of Keokuk, Iowa; and three (2 unreadable lines)..Peter of Sheridan, Oregon, and Jacob of Humbird.  One brother, Matt, preceded him in death two years ago.

Funeral services were conducted by Father Brake at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Fairview, Saturday morning at 9:30, and interment was in the cemetery at the church.  Pallbearers were Ed Eisberner, Ervin Staves, Lloyd Schlicter, Oswald Michael, Cyrus Comstock, and Peter Reinart.

Relatives and friends from away attending the services were Arnold Repplinger, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Comstock, Milwaukee; Dick Staves, St. Peter, Minn.; and Miss Beverly Crull of Eau Claire.

Frank Repplinger is another farmer who has named his place. He calls it the "Honey Bee Farm," and has had some neat stationery printed to use in his correspondence.
