Miss Georgia Benedict Wed to Don Pinkerton

York Center Methodist Church was the scene February 19th of a service in which Miss Georgia Mae Benedict, Loyal and Donald W. Pinkerton of Fond du Lac were united in marriage.  The vows were pledged in a double ring ceremony at 8 p.m.  Rev. Mrs. Ethel Nulton officiated in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends.  The bride’s father presented her in marriage.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nyle Benedict, was attended by Miss Joan Peroni, Eau Claire, fiancee of the bride’s brother, as maid of honor, and Miss Sandra Pinkerton, Fond du Lac, a cousin of the groom, as bridesmaid.

The groom, son of Mrs. Mary Pinkerton, Fond du Lac and the late Neal L. Pinkerton, chose his brother Neal Pinkerton, Fond du Lac, as best man and the bride’s brother Donald Benedict as groomsman.

The bride was attired in a waltz length gown of white bridal lace over satin with a sweetheart neckline and small stand up collar.  Her finger tip veil was attached to a small hat of flowers and she carried a heart shaped bouquet of red roses surrounded with white carnations.

The maid of honor wore a blue waltz length formal of lace over taffeta and carried a bouquet of white carnations and yellow roses.  The bridesmaid was dressed in a rose colored formal of ruffled nylon net over taffeta.  Her bouquet was similar to that of the maid of honor.

Soloist was Mrs. Gilbert Ahlborn with Mrs. Melford Rowe as pianist.

The bride’s brother Larry and her cousin, Jerry Kronberger, acted as ushers.

A navy blue suit dress with red accessories was worn by the bride’s mother, and a navy and silver suit dress with black accessories by the groom’s mother.

A reception for friends and relatives was held at the York town hall following the ceremony.

The groom is a 1953 graduate of Fond du Lac High School and is presently serving with the U.S. Navy.  He expects to be sent to Guam.  The bride graduated from Loyal High School in 1955 and is employed at the Citizen’s State Bank of Loyal.

Out of town guests were from Fond du Lac, Brandon, Ladoga, Waupun, Waupaca, Neillsville, Ft. Atkinson, Marshfield and Fairchild.
