Foemmel’s Corners (4 March 1910)

 

Fred Foemmel is helping his brother Adolph dig a well on his farm in Fremont.

 

John Heft and son Dan are entertaining wood sawyers this week.

 

Elsie Krause gave an apron social at the school house last Friday evening.  They took in over $13 which will be used in buying an organ.

 

The Mesdames Truman and Hale Davis spent Friday with Mrs. John Pietenpol.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Braatz drove thru here Sunday.

 

Al Nonhof and family were Sunday guests at the Doc Wonser home.

 

Truman Davis and Frank Krejci drove to Christie the first of the week.

 

We were very glad to hear from old friends at Burley, Wash., and hope to again.

 

A meeting was held at the cheese factory Friday evening and it was decided to finish it up inside and out right away.

 

John Pietenpol and wife drove over to Mr. Crump’s Sunday to make a visit to him and his housekeeper Mrs. Heaslett before the latter leave for their new home.

 

Louis Root is hauling rock for his father who intends putting in a basement under his barn.

 

Last Friday was a very windy day, but we thought nothing had blown away until we saw Homer King with his face as smooth as a baby’s.  Then we knew the wind must have blown his mustache away.

 

Stillman Huntley is helping Truman Davis cut pole wood.
