Shortville (4 March 1910)

 

A postcard social will be given at the home of Mrs. Ike Higgins for the benefit of the Sunday school.  Ladies are requested to bring a postal and refreshments.  Everybody is cordially invited.

 

The Ladies Aid of East Washburn met with Mrs. Edw. Schroeder Thursday.

 

Mesdames C. C. Beebe and W. Borden made a business trip to Granton Friday.

 

Ross Paulson of Granton was seen on our streets Monday.

 

A large crowd attended the sale at G. L. Bender’s farm Tuesday.

 

J. W. Fisher and family started for their new home in Minnesota Tuesday.

 

George Schafer had the misfortune to sprain his ankle while playing at school Monday.

 

Edw. Schroeder and John Short made a business trip to Granton last Thursday.

 

Joe Felser is talking of moving on the Henry Frantz place this spring.

 

Thomas Winters and Albert Moldenhauer and families, also Mrs. C. C. Beebe and children called on Edw. Schroeder’s Sunday.

 

School in District No. 2, East Washburn, closed Friday, March 4th, for a two months vacation..

 

Hugh and Nettie Berg were seen on our streets Sunday.

 

Thomas Lowery spent Tuesday at Granton.
