Zimmerman, Frank #2 (9 MAR 1878 - 11 SEP 1948)
Frank Zimmerman, the fifth child of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Zimmerman, was born March 9, 1878 in the town of Pine Valley, near Neillsville (Clark Co.), Wis., and died suddenly Sept. 11, 1948, at the Krohn Hospital in Black River Falls, at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 2 days.
His early boyhood was spent in the home where he was born. He attended school in Neillsville, and was baptized and confirmed in the German Lutheran Church in that city.
Later on the family moved to a farm in the town of Garden Valley (Jackson Co., Wis.), and from this new home Frank went fourth as a young man to spend nine years in the lumber camps of northern Wisconsin.
On June 14, 1904, he was united in marriage to Paulina A. Garber. They also made their home on a farm in the town of Garden Valley. To this union were born two children: Earl of Humbird, and Julia (Mrs. Earl Bemis) of Neillsville.
His wife died June 10, 1910, and after he death, he, with his two children moved to a farm two miles southwest of Humbird (Clark Co.), and this continued to be his home until the time of his death.
In the year 1920 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Marie Wagner, but this marriage proved unsuccessful and was quietly dissolved a few years later.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his son and daughter: one sister, Mrs. Martha Terrell, Humbird; one brother, Reinhart, Black River Falls; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; besides a large number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the home and at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church Tuesday, Sept. 14, Rev. Geo. W. Hohmann preaching from the text Gen. 28:16. The song service was "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Near the Cross," by Mrs. Edith Smith and Mrs. Emma Theiler, and Mrs. Hohmann accompanist. Pallbearers were Paul Elger, Peter Fradenburg, Adolph Rosolack, Samuel Newton, Paul Zerbel and George Mueller. Burial was in the Alma Center Cemetery.

Giloy, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Raine, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Raine, Will Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Wagner, Ben Wagner, Eva Quinlan, Jos. Marth, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ackerman, Paul Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Nemitz of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Virak, Mrs. Recka Peterson, Viroqua.
