Stearns, Helen (9 OCT 1948)
An informal, but happy wedding was celebrated at St. John’s Church last Saturday afternoon, when the pastor, the Rev. George W. Hohmann united for life’s journey, Lawrence Scholze, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Scholze of the town of Cleveland (Jackson Co.), and Helen Marie Stearns of La Porte, Ind. The family of the groom and a few friends gathered at the church for the wedding event. The bride was prettily dressed in pink, and the groom wore a suit of blue. Their attendants were Mrs. Edwin Scholze and Robert Scholze, a sister-in-law and brother of the groom. The double ring ceremony was used by the pastor. Following the ceremony the bridal party returned to the parental home in Cleveland for the wedding supper, and in the evening a dancing party and reception were held at the town hall of this village (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.).
