Duehring, Carol (30 OCT 1948)

At three-thirty o’clock in the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 30th, 1948, the Rev. H.A. Cussius united in marriage, Miss Carol Duehring, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Duehring, Sr. of Sussex, and Robert Buss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Buss of Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.).

The wedding took place before a large group of relatives and friends at the St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church at Menomonie Falls.

After the ceremony, dinner was served to sixty-five guests at the home of the bride’s parents, followed by a reception at Boyung’s Inn at Germantown.  After a week’s trip they will make their home at Humbird, where Mr. Buss will assist his father in the hardware business.

For her wedding the bride wore a gown of slipper satin, full length veil and carried a bouquet of white mums and white carnations.  She wore a double strand of pearls which was a gift from the bridegroom.

The matron of honor was Mrs. Frances Dooley, sister of the bride, and her bridesmaid was Mrs. Frederick Duehring, Jr., a sister-in-law of the bride.  They both wore identical gowns of slipper satin, one being blue and the other orchid.  They carried mums to match the color of their gowns.

Burton Winscher, uncle of the bridegroom, was best man, and Frederick Duehring, brother of the bride, was the groomsman.  Kenneth Duehring and Milton Winscher were the ushers.

Among those present at the wedding were Messrs. And Mmes. John Blang, Jr., John Bryner, Alvin Bryner, and Mrs. Charles Winscher of Humbird; Clinton Buss and David of LaValle; Melvin Zimmerman and Mrs. Harry McWilliams of Baraboo; Ray Koms of Chicago; and Howard Mubrath of Honey Creek.

This Saturday evening the newlyweds are to be hosts at a dancing party for their relatives and friends at the town hall in this village.
