Chili (25 March 1910)
Miss Thelma Walter and Mrs. Miller went by horse and buggy to Walters’ in the Town of Grant Wednesday and returned Friday.
Otto Walter and family returned Sunday morning from Freeport, Ill., Otto is going to work for his brother this summer.
H. Henning has built a platform the length of his store on the south side of his store building for buggy and machinery purposes.
J. B. Daughhetee of York bought a horse of H. Degener, Clark Waterman made a flying trip to deliver it on Wednesday morning.
Mrs. H. Koser is on the sick list at present and Miss Julia Hollenbeck is looking after the housework.
H. Montag was looking very happy Sunday morning about 11 o’clock, we wonder why!
Quite a few shots were fired off in a southwesterly direction of our village. A number of our citizens were very much disturbed. They were expecting an invasion of the wild Indians or cowboys. Luckily nobody got hurt. But children had not to be allowed to handle firearms.
There was quite a little moving going on last week. Chas Hayden moved onto his farm in the town of York. E. Hollenbeck moved into Chas Hayden’s house and Jasen Phillips moved into the house he bought of H. A. Knoll.
Don’t forget the Easter dance next Monday evening.
