Ascher, Helen (October 7, 1916 - September 19, 1931)
Helen Ascher, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ascher was born at Albia, Iowa, Oct. 7, 1916, and came with her parents to Curtiss community about six years ago.
Upon becoming ill a short time ago, she was taken to local physicians who pronounced the ailment to be diabetes.
Everything that could be done for Helen, the parents did, taking her to the Memorial hospital at Wausau last Friday evening, but it seemed she was past all help and passed to the beyond early Saturday morning, Sept. 19, 1931, at the age of 14 years, 11 months and 12 days.
Helen was a very bright young lady, at the head of her classes in school, and was one of the large class recently confirmed in the Curtiss church, and has a host of young friends, who will sadly miss her from their circle.
Besides parents, she is survived by two brothers and five sisters, with other relatives residing in Iowa.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Lutheran church at 2 o’clock, the Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating, with interment in the Pine Hill cemetery.
The Advance joins with their many friend in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
