Chili (29 April 1910)

Mrs. Birch had her furniture moved to the depot Wednesday. She is going to Duluth where her husband is working.

Horse buyers from South Dakota are here trying to buy up a car of horses.  Jake Henning sold his gray for $190.  There have been others sold, but we did not learn the particulars.  Horses must be scarce out west.

The last frost has spoiled the berry and apple crop to a great extent.  There will be only a few late varieties which had not blossomed yet, that may bear fruit.

Miss Thelma Walter and Mr. C. G. Maack of Green Bay went to Marshfield Friday afternoon where they were married in presence of Judge Schoengarth and Miss Hulda Schoengarth.

Mr. A. W. Wendorf went on a few weeks vacation.  When he returns he will bring home with him a young bride.  He rented a house and will commence housekeeping upon his return.  Mr. Wendorf is well known here and at Granton and needs no introduction. The lady in question is an entire stranger here, but will meet a hearty welcome.  Eugene Crandall of Neillsville is holding down the office chair during Mr. Wendorf’s absence.
