Heathville (6 May 1910)
Hank Gerrits has gone to Little Chute on special business. While there he will attend his sister’s wedding which will last three days.
Nate Drake is with us again. He has a good word for Wisconsin and a most thrilling experience to tell about Washington. He says it rained there last fall for 40 days continuously. Neighbors and friends assisted him in putting in his grain last Monday.
Our Heathville cheese man is digging a cellar for his new house which means to say that he’ll be a money maker for this community in the future.
Jap Spry is laid up with rheumatism.
Mrs. W. W. Smith considered at one time beyond medical help is steadily regaining her health and is entirely out of danger.
Norman Kidd a prominent citizen near Granton asked us to apologize to some extent. He does not mean to say that he felt insulted in regard to killing the fish, because he says it was true that he killed as many as 50 to 100 in 5 minutes, while in California. It was account of some other little matter which by this time is getting stale. However it was nothing serious as we know he was always a most obliging neighbor while in our midst.
