Frei, George Sr. (? - 12 May 1910)

George Frei Sr., died at the home of his son George in this town last week Thursday, at the age of 86 years, death being due to old age and dropsy.  Mr. Frei was a native of Switzerland and came to this country in1883 and with his three sons who came with him settled in Green County where he owned and operated a farm until his old age permitted him no longer to do so, since which time he made his home among his boys.  Six years ago he took up his abode here with his son George, it being his desire to spend the eve of his life with him and to die at his home.  For several years past he was almost a helpless invalid and was with great care of Mr. and Mrs. Frei who uncomplainingly gave him the most tender attendance.  The deceased leaves besides his three sons, a daughter who resides in Switzerland.  The funeral was held last Saturday, Rev. Risser of the Neillsville Congregational Church officiating, with interment in the Windfall Cemetery.
