Chili (20 May 1910)
A great number of people most likely were looking for the comet the 18th in the morning hours and did not see it.
H. Montag, Clark Waterman and Mrs. A. Verhagen were Marshfield business callers Wednesday morning.
The recent rains have been quite a help for the grain and garden stuff. It was really getting dry and as it was cold also, nothing would grow.
John W. Bailey sold his butcher-shop to H. Monday. Won’t Herman look big in a nice clean white apron with a large butcher knife and saw behind the counter. He did not state when he intends to commence, though he watches with critical eye every fat calf, sheep, hog, and steer that he passes on his way up and down the streets.
Mr. George, the jovial traveling man for the Moline Plow Co. who also sells the celebrated Henney buggies was in town Wednesday, calling on his trade.
Mr. Wendorf returned early this week from his wedding trip to resume his duties as station agent. His wife will join him here later.
