Foemmel’s Corners (10 June 1910)

 

Grandpa Nonhof left Wednesday for a visit with his son John in North Dakota before going to Nebraska and California to see his other children.

 

Lizzie, Elsie and Lydia Krause did shopping in Neillsville Sat., Miss Carrie Bieneck came home with them for an over Sunday visit.

 

The Mesdames Grace Lapham and Effie Davis, Messrs. Tebar, Fisk Lee and Fred Davis were Friday callers at John Pietenpol’s.

 

Elsie Krause gave her scholars a picnic dinner last Friday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Cattanach, Mrs. John Hefty, Mrs. John Krause and children spent Sunday at Harry Cattanach’s.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ely Heck and hired man, Victor Krejci and John Lastofska drove to Dells Dam Sunday after fish.  They caught four.

 

Last Saturday evening Truman Davis and wife drove to Shortville and stayed over night at Will Stevens’, then Sunday all drove down to see the dam where the water had flooded the Slinkert farm and where they were at work with about a dozen mules building a new road to keep the water from going farther.

 

Geo. Frei has his new barn painted and is also painting the old one.

 

Clifton Paulson drove through here Saturday with his span of Shetland ponies.  He says he will sell the black one when he gets it broke.

 

Mr. Joe Madler and Miss Augusta Schmidtke drove through here Wed. on their way to Neillsville to have the matrimonial knot tied.  They were accompanied by John Madler and wife.

 

Grandpa and grandma Breese stayed with their grandchildren while their parents went to Shortville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ara Lee and daughter Lila called at Truman Davis’ Saturday afternoon.
