Schoengarth, Marie (4 FEB 1843 - 17 SEP 1905)
Last Sunday at 8 o’clock a.m., Mrs. Marie Schoengarth, wife of Fred Schoengarth, answered the kind summons and passed on into the higher life. Mrs. Schoengarth was born in Germany Feb. 4th, 1843, was married to Fred Schoengarth Feb. 3, 1867, and leaves in her immediate family to mourn her death, her aged mother, her husband and 7 children, namely, Gustave, Fred, Charles, Herman and Paul, the sons, and Mrs. Bertha Montgomery of Neillsville, and Mrs. Ann St. Claire, the daughters, besides several grandchildren. The deceased died of cancer of the breast, from which she had suffered much since May of this year, and for which trouble she underwent an operation on June 10th. The funeral was held at 2 o’clock Tuesday p.m. from the German Lutheran Church, Rev. Hass officiating, with interment in the Grant Cemetery. The burial and floral tributes were silent testimonials of the esteem in which the deceased was held, friends coming from far and near to pay their last respects, while the floral tributes were most beautiful and numerous. Hers was an honored an useful life, she a loving wife and devoted mother.
