Geo. Fraser of Chili visited friends here Sunday.

Rev. Mallory and family are visiting at Levi Morris’ this week.

Ira Wolff and friend drove out from Neillsville Sunday and made some pleasant call among friends.

Dr. Stillman, a dentist of Madison, was up Monday looking the field over with the idea of locating here.

Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Lowery and little son High of Shortville visited relatives here Saturday.

Mr. L.H. Howard of Neillsville, together with her cousin Mrs. Grisdale of La Crosse, visited relatives between trains here on Saturday.

Mrs. Anna Phillips of Carlisle came over Saturday and spent several days in visiting at Jas. Finnegan’s.

Miss Leger of Winnetka, Ill., who had been here for a week visiting relatives in the Dave Konshak family, returned home Sunday.

Miss Regina Messing, who is attending the German school here, visited at her home in Sherwood from Thursday until Sunday.

Mrs. Herman Drescher died Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the home of Julius Drescher, aged 83 years.  The funeral was held Sunday.

John Bladl enjoyed a visit from brother Chas. and family of the town of Lynn.

Mr. and Mrs. John Pietenpol and baby were guests at the J.M. Tompkins’ Sunday.  We are glad to note the fact that John has as far recovered as to be comfortably convalescent these days.

Loren Snyder, Carl Reichert, Clay Converse, Calvin Davis and the Misses Asenath and Ora Davis, Lotta and Elva Berg and Dora Stallman went to Chile Saturday and enjoyed the dance there that evening.

T.D. Wage and family drove to Chili Sunday and left Gladys at Pratt Dawes’, her boarding place.  Mr. Wage received his yearly supply of goods from the Barron Woolen Mills on Monday and is now out on the road canvassing with them.

The Misses Gertie Wolff and Blanche Crocker, both of Neillsville, visited their friend, Mrs. F.J. Baer her last Saturday and Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Stockwell and children of Marshfield Sundayed with relatives here.

The Jas. Finnegan home was the scene of a delightful party last Saturday evening.  Miss Ethel having invited a baker’s dozen of school mates to help her celebrated her 14^th birthday, on which occasion her father remembered her with a beautiful gold ring., set with pearl and opals.

Station agent C.M. Olson left here Friday evening for Woodville, his home; where he remained over Sunday and where, with a brother from Minnesota who was also home on this occasion, he helped gather and thresh - (pumpkins), had just such a time as he enjoyed yearly before he entered the railroad employ.  John Anderson of Neillsville came over and acted as agent Saturday and as he couldn’t stay so far from home on Sunday, Principal Drescher sold stamped local tickets on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Reichert of Chili Sundayed with relatives here.

Miss Martha Faeder spent Sunday at her home in Loyal.

Eugene Pierrelee returned home from Knowles late last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dankemeyer drove to Chili Saturday and enjoyed the dance there that evening.

Ben Beeckler drove to Cannonville Friday night for his sister Theresa, who is teaching there.

Mrs. Fred W. Bredlau drove down from Loyal the other day to visit her mother Mrs. John Riedel.

Wm. Bartell of Marshfield transacted business in town Monday.

Mrs. Ross Paulson will entertain the Circle next Wednesday.  Everybody is cordially invited.

Miss Brisbois of Wausau will be here next Monday and Tuesday with a delightful line of millinery goods.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Harding of Heathville welcomed the arrival of a little boy at their home last Tuesday night.

Steve Keddel left for Laons early last week, after spending a few days her with his family.

Dr. and Mrs. S.G. Schwarz drove to Neillsville Sunday and enjoyed dinner with Dr. and Mrs. J.H. Brooks.

Ed Mead of Neillsville made music for us Monday and Tuesday with his well drilling machine.

Geo. L. Beardsley of Neillsville transacted business here on Monday and assisted Ed Meap to set up his well drilling machine.

Fred Zwick and Robert Kurth returned home from the windy city of Chicago Tuesday.  They went down on Saturday with stock for the market there.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas drove out and spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wagner in the town of Lynn.

"Uncle" John Canfield moved from his bachelor quarters here in town Tuesday to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Kihn, at Loyal where he expects to spend the winter.

Dave Garbush went to Marshfield Tuesday to meet his wife and children who were returning from a 2 week visit at Plymouth.

Mrs. Chas. Lapham of New York City, who is here visiting her parents, went to Merrillan Junction and met her husband Tuesday evening, he being enroute here to join his wife and baby.

The John Cattanach, Dan Rausch and Ross Paulson families drove to Nasonville Sunday and enjoyed the day at Chris Paulsons’.

Mr. and Mrs. Reed, daughter Ethel, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wallace, daughter Agnes Bell, Otto Schroeder and son, all of Shortville, were up and visited friends here Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stearns and little daughter Ruby of Duluth, arrived here late last week in response to a telegram informing them of the serious illness of Mrs. Stearn’s mother, Mrs. Carl Roder.  Mrs. Roder, who is 71 years old, though very ill and for more than two weeks, has been unable to take any food or nourishment more than that afforded by a little wine and the water she drinks.  She holds her own and Mr. Stearns and family returned to Duluth yesterday, where Mrs. Stearns will make preparations to return here for an indefinite stay and engage in assisting in the care of her mother.

John Meyers of Chili transacted business in town Tuesday.

Roy Lyons expects to go home tomorrow for an over Sunday visit.

Mrs. Reinhold Guk and Mrs. Wm. Neinas visited relatives here Tuesday.

Grandma Schroeder was up from Shortville Sunday to see and become acquainted with her new grandson.

Miss Mary Waterman of the Ridge is lending sufficient help in the Schroeder home.

Frank Potter transacted business in town here Tuesday.

Herman Poncuff visited at E.A. Beeckler’s Sunday.

W.R. Howard of Augusta, who is here engaged with the new drug store, went to Eau Claire Monday eve.

Mrs. L.A. Reichert of Chili came over Monday evening, and on Tuesday morning, in company with her sister, Mrs. Ed Konshak of Valley Junction Ia. (who is her visiting her husband’s people) set out for Globe on a visit to their parents who reside there.

Master Ralph Marsh, who for the past 12 days has been suffering with a serious injury to his left eye; in company with his father and Dr. S.G. Schwarze, went to Marshfield on Monday for a consultation with Dr. Lathrop concerning the injured member.  They returned that evening, and though the eye seems much better, grave doubts are entertained regarding it.
