Catlin, Lynn (01 AUG 1897-28 OCT 1956)

 

Lynn Clare Catlin, 59, a native of Loyal, died at his home in Wisconsin Rapids, at 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

 

He was born August I, 1897 and his boyhood years were lived on a farm east of Loyal. He attended the Catlin rural school, Loyal High School and La Crosse BUSINESS College.

 

He was married to Minnla Kniekle in Marshfield, February 29, 1920. After a short residence in Loyal, they moved to Marshfield, where he worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. In 1932 they moved to Wisconsin Rapids and have since resided there.

 

He was a member of First Congregational Church of Wisconsin Rapids and served on it’s board of Deacons and board of Trustees. He was a member of Chapter and Blue Lodge Masons, the American Legion and Veterans Association of Metropolitan Life Insurance.

 

Funeral services were held in First Congregational Church in Wisconsin Rapids at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert W. Kingdom officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.

 

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Eunice) H. Petersen of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Douglas (Betty Jane) Marshall, Wisconsin Rapids; six grandchildren; two brothers, Claude Catlin and Haskell Catlin, Loyal, and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Elva) Lewis, Loyal, and Mrs. Ben (Mary) Gardow, Eau Claire. A brother, Perle Catlin, preceded him in death.
