Noah, Verlan A. (4 NOV 1936 - 13 AUG 2011)
Verlan A. Noah,
74, of Thorp, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Oakbrook
Health and Rehab, Thorp.
A memorial service will be held at
11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at the Immanuel United Church of
Christ in Greenwood. Rev. Mark Schwinn will officiate.
A visitation will be held from 10
a.m. until the time of service on Sept. 17 at the church in
Greenwood.
Verlan was born Nov. 4, 1936, to
Emil and Marianna (Braun) Noah in Clark County. He attended
Greenwood High School. He worked many different jobs throughout his
life including construction. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting,
fishing and watching and studying eagles. Verlan was a man with a
great sense of humor, and enjoyed teasing friends and family and
had a nickname for everyone.
Verlan is lovingly survived by his
children, Kris (Gordy) Meyer of Eau Claire, Sandy (Joe) Milz of
Oregon, Wis., Tom (Louise) Noah of Thorp, Peggy (Jeff) Martens of
Thorp, JoAnn Noah of Tomahawk, Susie (John) Bieno of Oregon, Wis.,
and John (Holly) Noah of Thorp. He is further survived by 14
grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; his brothers and sisters,
Fred (Ruth) Noah of Hawthorne, Calif., Evelyn (Orville) Hoffmann of
Hartford,, Bernelda Karlen of Greenwood, Herb (Kathi) Noah of
Stevens Point, Arvilla (Bob) Blunck of Union Grove, Arlene (Bob)
Stark of Neillsville, Elmer (Jill) Noah of Greenwood and Kathee
(Dick) Fitzl of Loyal.
Verlan was preceded in death by his
parents; daughter, Amy, in infancy; his second wife, Susie; his
brother, Howard in infancy; and his brother Norman Noah.
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home,
Owen, is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
